Again with the snow. Wednesday version

Parks, resorts, dining, attractions, vacations

OK, So yesterday we got about 7/10s of an inch ( I live with a man who
aims for precision...) of WET snow. Some of it is still on the ground.

Today, we are promised, 1 or more inches of rain, 2-5 inches of snow,
2-7 inches of snow... Yes, three scenarios so far.

The time frame is set for a noon arrival.

Anyone remember what happened last year????? Atlanta was cleared OUT
at noon and people had 12 hours commutes home. Not everyone but some
poor unfortunate souls did. And some kids were stuck at school, safe,
and warm with food and the parents didn't like that. I would have been
very happy to know that my kids were cared for.

So schools are CLOSED. State government offices close at 2p with
employes leaving at noon (no I don't understand that either) and Mayor
of Atlanta Kasim Reed has not been heard from! Last year he could NOT
wait to tell everyone from the Weather Channel Headquarters to get off
the roads; he and his krew traveled passed totally blocked lanes on I75
in the emergency lanes to do it! Governor didn't do that.

So now we wait. We are expecting WET slushy snow.

Rodney will get it before us. But we are all ready. Went to Publix
last night!

Ok, end of report.... (Last year we were in Sydney Australia....)

We're over in Rhode Island, helping out for a few days while my son is
off on a business trip. So naturally, Albany is cold but no snow while
we get 4" here overnight. Now I'm shoveling snow that isn't even mine ;-)

Where in Rhode Island? I spent my summers as a child in the 60s in Island
Park(Portsmouth). Happy memories!

Damn I sound old! ;-)

A short distance northwest (although they're all short in Rhode Island
;-)) - Warwick.

I remember Warwick Shopper's World. Still there?

Warwick Shopper's World hasn't existed for over 30 years. I remember the one in Middletown. (So called because it was between Newport and Portsmouth on Aquidneck Island, which used to BE the actual "Rhode Island" until they changed the name to avoid confusion.)

That might be what I remembered. It was a looooooooong time ago!

Eh, you're asking the wrong guy. I can try to find out. My knowledge of
Warwick consists of nice places for lunch on the water and Gregg's for
the best, most decadent Death by Chocolate cake I've ever had.
